Vice Chairman Ning Jizhe pointed out that U.S. multinationals have actively participated in the process of China’s reform and opening up and are an important part of China’s economic development. The economic and trade ties between China and the U.S. have become increasingly close. Chinese and U.S. businesses have formed a strong and unbreakable body of shared interests. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China will advance the building of a new development paradigm featuring “dual-circulation”, which allows the domestic and overseas markets to reinforce each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay. Making the domestic market the mainstay does not mean China is developing its economy with the door closed. By giving full play to the potential of the domestic market, both domestic and foreign markets can be better connected and utilized to realize robust and sustainable development. Looking forward, China will open its economy wider to the outside world, with a key focus on building an open market, expanding institutional opening up and boosting innovation cooperation. China welcomes companies from all over the world, including the U.S., to participate more in China’s opening up, expand bilateral and multilateral economic and trade exchanges, and share China’s development achievements and growth opportunities. It is hoped that the Chinese and US businesses play to their complementary advantages and seek common development and progress.
